The Program

Weeks 1 – 3 Schedule

Block 1: 9:00 am – 10:20 am

Dance Class taught by Broadway teaching Artists

Block 2: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

Performance Class (Song Interp/Cold Reading/16-bar cut workshop/Audition Tech) taught by Broadway teaching Artists

Rehearse for staged performance of INTO THE WOODS directed by Jarrett Reiche and Lindsey Brett Carothers.

Performances are on Friday, July 23, 2021 and Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the Westinghouse Arts Academy Auditorium.

Audition Instructions

For the Full Experience Package:

You will perform one monologue, one vocal performance, and be evaluated in dance. Please record the three activities described below and share the videos as a file or link to YouTube with permissions set so we can view it.

  • Memorize a one-minute monologue from a play (not a book of monologues or a movie).
  • Send a video of a solo dance performance. Video submission should show an understanding of movement, style, choreography, rhythm and technique. This can be a recent performance, or something you record at home.
  • Sing 32 bars of a Broadway standard song. Recorded accompaniment will be accepted at this time.

For the Dance Only Package:

  • You will not be required to audition. Please fill out the application page without uploading a video.

Yes! Everyone In the Intensive will audition for the production on day 1 & subsequently placed Into a role that best showcases their talents.

JENN COLELLA (Actress) was most recently seen on Broadway starring as Beverley/Annette & others in Come From Away (Drama Desk Award Winner, Tony® Award Nomination). Other Broadway credits include: If/Then (Anne), Chaplin (Hedda Hopper), Urban Cowboy (Sissy, Outer Critic’s Circle Award Nomination), High Fidelity (Laura). Off-Broadway credits include: Fun Home (Allison, Quintessence of Dust Theatre Company Immersive Production, 2019) Twelve Angry Men, Lucky Guy (The Little Shubert Theatre), Don’t Quit Your Night Job (Ha! Comedy Club), Slut (The Actor’s Theatre), The Great American Trailer Park Musical (NYMF). Jenn also starred in the world premiere of The Times They Are A-Changin’ at the Old Globe Theatre, and performed in Beautiful Girls, a musical tribute honoring Stephen Sondheim at the World Festival of Theatre in Colorado Springs. TV credits include: Oxygen Network’s co-host of Can You Tell?, ABC’s The Cashmere Mafia, FX’s Rescue Me, CBS’s The Good Wife, PBS’s Sondheim! The Birthday Concert, a tribute to Stephen Sondheim with the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center. Film credits include: Lay It Down for Good, Uncertainty (playing opposite Manoel Felciano, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Lynn Collins). LILLI COOPER (Actress) was recently nominated for a Tony Award for her performance as Julie Nichols in Tootsie. She originated the role of Sandy Cheeks in Spongebob Squarepants The Musical, And Martha Bessel in Spring Awakening. She toured the country with Wicked, and played Elphaba in 3 countries. Other theater favorites: Mack and Mabel (City Center: Encores!), Tick,Tick…Boom! (Keen Company), The Threepenny Opera (Atlantic Theater). CAITLIN KINNUNEN (Actress) is an actress based out of New York City. She has appeared on Broadway in The Prom, originating the role of Emma Nolan and earning a Tony nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Musical. She has also been seen in The Bridges of Madison County, Spring Awakening, on the First National Tour of Next to Normal, and in numerous film and television projects including; The Intern, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, Sweet Little Lies, Younger, American Vandal, The Knick, and Law & Order: SVU.

EVA NOBLEZADA (Actress) is a two-time Tony Award Nominee, currently starring on Broadway as Eurydice in the smash-hit Hadestown, after originating the role on the West End in 2018. Before Hadestown, Eva starred as Kim in the Broadway and West End revival of Miss Saigon (Tony Nomination), as well as Eponine in Les Miserables, in the historic London company.

BEN BOGEN (Actor) Ben Bogen is a New York based actor, singer, and dancer. A graduate of The University of Michigan with a B.F.A in Musical Theatre, Ben made his principle and National Tour debut at age 23 as the alternate for the lead role of Frankie Valli in the Broadway Tour of the Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys (one of the youngest actors in history of the production to cover the role). In addition to performing the lead role nearly 50 times, he went on for featured roles including Joe Pesci and Bob Crewe. Soon after concluding the tour, Ben made his Broadway debut in the ensemble of Disney’s Frozen on Broadway, understudying the principle roles of Olaf and Duke Weselton. Ben recently concluded the brief Off Broadway run of Only Human alongside Academy Award nominee Gary Busey, as well as the World Premiere of The Flamingo Kid at Hartford Stage, where he understudied the male lead. Other credits include Pepper in Mamma Mia! with North Carolina Theatre in Raleigh, the World Premiere of Sousatzka (Toronto), Pittsburgh CLO, and Center REP. A Bay Area California native, Ben grew up performing at the Lesher Center for the Arts, where he cultivated his passion for performing as well as teaching theatre and dance to young performers. To continue inspiring the next generation of actors, Ben enjoys teaching master classes and coaching young actors all over the country.

HEATHER PARCELLS (Actress) was most recently seen in Tuck Everlasting on Broadway understudying Mae Tuck and Betsy Foster. Her other Broadway credits include Finding Neverland, Soul Doctor, Judy in the original revival cast of A Chorus Line, Wonderland, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Her National Tour credits include Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Some Like it Hot, and Velma in Chicago. She also appeared on Dancing with the Stars with Mario Lopez and opened the 2007 Tony Awards with A Chorus Line. Heather is a graduate of Florida State University.

TAYLOR LOUDERMAN (Actress) Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Taylor lived in the Chicago and Decatur, Illinois, areas before her family moved to Bourbon, Missouri, a small town 60 miles southwest of St. Louis. At the age of 10 when she was cast in the title role of “Annie” at Ozark Actors Theatre, Rolla, Missouri. She grew up performing in the Muny and with Team Stages in St. Louis. During her sophomore year at University of Michigan, she was cast as Campbell Davis in the tour of “Bring It On: The Musical” and went on to perform the lead role on Broadway in 2012. Taylor returned to Broadway in Kinky Boots and is currently starring as Regina George in the Broadway production of MEAN GIRLS, a role that earned Taylor a 2018 Tony Award nomination!

CHRISTY ALTOMARE (Actress) originated the role of Anya in the Broadway production of Anastasia for which she received the Theatre World Award and was nominated for an Outer Critics Award and a Drama Desk Award for lead actress in a musical. She made her Broadway debut playing the role of Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia. Off- Broadway, Christy portrayed the role of Sue Snell in MCC’s revival of Carrie the Musical. Christy can be heard in the cast recordings of both Anastasia and Carrie. She toured the country in the first national tour of Spring awakening, playing the role of Wendla Bergman. Regional credits include Jerusha Abbott in John Caird and Paul Gordon’s production of Daddy Long Legs,Guinevere in Camelot at Drury Lane in Chicago, and ,most recently , Nellie Forbush in South Pacific at the Aspen Music festival. Christy is a graduate of the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Along with her passion for musical theater, she is a songwriter/ recording artist, currently working on a number of projects.

ETHAN SLATER (Actor) made his Broadway debut as SpongeBob in SpongeBob SquarePants for which he was also nominated for a Tony Award. His recent credits include the world premiere of SpongeBob in Chicago and Modell in Diner at DTC (Dir. Kathleen Marshall). Off-Broadway, he’s been seen in Baghdaddy (St. Luke’s), PEMDAS (59e59), Claudio Quest (NYMF), What We Know (Teatro Circulo) and Independents (FringeNYC). His film/television work includes Fosse (FX), Lightning Bugs in a Jar (Cannes 2015) and EVOL and the web series Redheads Anonymous and New Mayor of New York.

CHRISTOPHER STEPHENS (AMDA Voice Faculty) is a voice teacher, pianist, and music director who joined the AMDA faculty in 2005. He has worked on and off-Broadway in shows such as Matilda, Wicked, Shout! the Mod Musical, Captain Louie, Anything Goes, Bells Are Ringing, Channeling Doris Day, as well Carnegie Hall in a concert starring Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller. Catherine Fitzmaurice, Ricky Ian Gordon, Tiffany Haas, Adam Jacobs, Morgan James, Tina Landau, Alan Menken, Kelvin Moon Loh, Kelli O’Hara, Heather Parcells, Mandy Patinkin, Christine Pedi, Rachel Potter, and Emily Skinner are several of the many artists for whom Christopher has served as pianist. Christopher is a graduate of Upright Citizen’s Bridage improv program and the University Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

DEE TOMASETTA (AMDA Dance Faculty) is a Massachusetts native where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at the University of Michigan. She was honored in 2018 receiving the Emerging Artist Alumni Award from the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theatre & Dance. Dee was seen in the First National Tour of Finding Neverland playing the role of Peter Pan and was also the Associate Choreographer of the Broadway National Tour. Most recently, Dee was in the new musical presentations of Bliss the Musical choreographed by Josh Prince and directed by Sheryl Kaller, The Storm directed by Cory Michael Herman, and Kalevala the Musical choreographer by Alessandro Pellicani. Dee was featured on So You Think You Can Dance as a Top 15 female finalist in Season 10 where she met choreographer Mia Michaels. Dee worked as an assistant choreographer on numerous projects with Ms. Michaels including So You Think You Can Dance, the Joffrey Ballet, and Mia Michaels LIVE. Dee performed an original work choreographed by Mia Michaels at the Geffen Playhouse Los Angeles honoring Lin Manuel Miranda and Dick Van Dyke. Dee has been seen dancing and singing for Disney’s Freaky Friday Movie Musical, the NBC Upfronts, REEBOK, New York Fashion Week, AUDI Global Launch Events in Shanghai, with Grammy Nominee Aloe Blacc, Musical Artist DUMBLONDE, and Gillette Venus commercials. In addition to dancing, Dee has modeled for MAC Cosmetics, Enbrel Print, Beachbody Openfit Pilates subscriptions, Capezio Dancewear and Hasbro Products USA. Her favorite performance credits include The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Radio City New York Spectacular, Saturday Night Live, New Years Eve Ball Drop with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, Jimmy Kimmel LIVE, The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, America’s Got Talent, Transcendence Theatre, Mystic India: The World Tour, Kaleidoscope Dance Theatre, and iKADA Dance Company. Dee is currently on the Dance Faculty at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) located in New York City. She continues to share her knowledge, love, and passion for the arts teaching at various dance institutions throughout the country.

SARAH MEAHL (Actress) Recently appeared in the Broadway workshop of the upcoming The Music Man revival. Broadway credits include: Kiss Me, Kate!, Hello, Dolly! and Cirque du Soleil’s Paramour (Gina). Off-Broadway credits: A Chorus Line, The Golden Apple, and Standard Time. Regional credits: Papermill Playhouse, La Jolla Playhouse, Theatre Under the Stars, Theatre of The Stars, Dallas Summer Musicals, The MUNY, Kansas City Starlight, D.C. Shakespeare Theatre Co., Walnut Street Theatre, and Pittsburgh Musical Theatre. Workshops: Anastasia, Countess of Storyville, and One for My Baby. TV/Film credits: Isn’t It Romantic?, The Natalee Holloway Story (Natalee, Tru TV), Disney commercials, and Barney. Sarah judges dance competitions for multiple corporations, teaches gymnastics, and is a sculpture model in NYC. She has also worked with Disney MGM studios and Disney Cruise Lines. JARRETT REICHE (Broadway/Television Casting Professional) attended Marymount Manhattan College where he earned a degree in Musical Theatre and a degree in Business Management. Shortly after college, Jarrett joined the legendary Binder Casting team in NYC and has personally worked on casting for Disney’s The Lion King (Broadway & National Tour), White Christmas (National Tour), The Color Purple (National Tour), Escape to Margaritaville (National Tour), Tootsie (National Tour), Emojiland (Off-Broadway), NY City Center, Encores! (2019 & 2020 Seasons), Into the Woods (Hollywood Bowl), the Radio City Rockettes (Xmas Spectacular 2019) as well as dozens of regional theatre productions, commercial projects, and television productions which include Netflix’s The Chair.

LINDSEY BRETT CAROTHERS (Broadway Performer) attended PACE University’s prestigious Musical Theatre program in NYC where she earned a BFA in Musical Theatre. Lindsey made her Broadway debut in Bring It On: The Musical and then joined the National Tour of WICKED as the Glinda u/s. Most recently, Lindsey was seen on Broadway in the original cast of Gettin’ the Band Back Together. Other credits include the premiere of The Flamingo Kid (Hartford Stage), Mad Libs Live! (New World Stages), Zombies On Broadway (Signature Center) and Claudio Quest (NYMF). She can also be seen on television in Mozart in the Jungle!
